Socket designed Go Wi-Fi! to be Battery Friendly. When connected to a WLAN, the card is typically in idle (listening) mode about 90% of the time, with occasional short bursts of data being transmitted and received.

The card works with a variety of WLAN security protocols. The card supports open, 40/64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption, as well as industry-standard WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), WPA-PSK (WPA-Pre-shared Key), WPA-2 Enterprise and 802.1x authentication with EAP-TLS or PEAP.
